My Name is Maria Thorndyke and I am a UK trained professional counsellor, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor able to offer supervision to any other clinical professional.
I am bound by a code of ethics that ensures the highest level of confidentiality and care.

I have diplomas in the following: -

Person Centred Counselling
Clinical Case Work Supervision
Clinical and Analytical Hypnotherapy and NLP

I also have certificates in: -

Working with the Bereaved
Critical Incident Debriefing (working with survivors, victims and rescue services involved in critical incidents from which emotional trauma may develop)

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and registered with the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register)

I have worked in both the voluntary and private sectors and have extensive experience of working with a diverse client base including mental health, bereavement, abuse, addiction and family work.

I have run courses for Self Esteem/Confidence, Stress Management, Anger Management and Assertiveness. These have been provided for Mental Health organisations, Women's Refuge, Family Centres and Addiction Centres. They have also been run for Havering College and the Workers Education Association.

In addition to the above I have also taught a Diploma in Hypnotherapy for Clarendon House Institute of Hypnotherapy in the UK. This was an accredited course with APHP (The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy)
