The Southwest Chamber
![]() |
As the team made their way up the main stairs to the second floor, Steve stopped on the stairs, he said he was aware of a lady moving up and down the stairs. He could not give us much information on her apart from the fact that she was from the Tudor period of the house.
We moved into the Southwest Chamber, and as soon as we did
so Steve said that he was picking up the residual energy of the room and wanted
to associate the room with gentlemen sitting around chatting and smoking and
gave a period of
King Charles I (1600's) for this.
Steve was also picking up a topic of politics in the room; going by the history of the building this is very possible.
As Steve sat in the far corner of the room a sound was heard
by most of the team. Steve said it had sounded like footsteps going across the
room, this is what I also thought I had heard. I had also felt the floorboards
dip as if someone had just walked past. There was also another sound about a
minute later, it sounded like two small clicks, and we looked to see if there
was anyone in the corridor or moving about downstairs but failed to find any
explanation for this.
As it did not repeat itself, it is impossible to rule out that it wasn't just a natural movement in the floorboards as we had just moved across them and they might have just moved back into place.
